You vs. Distractions: The Fight Continues

The reigning king of dream killing hands down, are DISTRACTIONS. Distractions do their job so well. Talk about mastery! In some way distractions inspire me. It does its job so well, and here’s the kicker, they use you to do the dirty work and guess what? You do it! Talk about barely lifting a finger.

Let me explain. Let’s take a recent event for example, because I don’t think your understanding me. Now, before I go any further let me say this, my words are strictly for the individuals that want to succeed and the ones who want more than the regular 9-5 life. Those individuals aren’t attached to certain things and understand the meaning of sacrifice. Therefore everything I say after this sentence, will be fully received and understood for the intended audience. Alright now that we go that out the way, let’s get too it. I’m sure the Golden Globes received more than 90% of America’s attention last night, and you we’re probably one of them. Lets say 99% since our current economy is divided monetarily between the 99 and 1%. Those figures single handily should hit home. Okay we got it, the Golden Globes had us tuned in. Is that a bad thing? No, watch the Golden Globes!

Here’s the hard down fact. The affairs of this world are nice and sometimes okay to enjoy, but don’t let those things distract you, robbing you of your potential. Be attentive long enough and you’ll be stuck watching longer than anticipated, subconsciously waiting for next year. Distractions will do their job, will you? Don’t get #Distracted!

The Golden Globes will be here years to come, and unless you’re super human, I guarantee as humans you won’t. Answer this question, would you rather watch hundreds of other people achieve awards for their success, or would you want to be the person at the actual awards nominated for an achievement? You choose. See, the people who created the concept of television and media coverage know that 95% of the people on the planet learn through imagery. So they intentionally get you hooked on reoccurring shows to keep you stuck. I wouldn’t say intentionally, they needed a source of income and found the perfect formula to generate it.They provide the picture as well as the narrative of each, while you soak up everything like a sponge. Now there’s more to it, but we’re just scratching the surface. I don’t want to “distract” you from the original message.

Let me tell you a secret, while you we’re watching the Golden Globes, there was a few hungry individuals doing something else. If you’re quietly asking me in your head what they we’re doing, you’re an official victim of television. TURN.IT.OFF! Until you have reached your definition of success, you should only allow yourself to watch others achieve theirs for inspiration, not entertainment.

In the words of Lil Wayne, “I tried to pay attention, but attention paid me.” Just curious, where’s your focus?
