I know Why the Cage Bird Sings

I know why the cage bird sings

“All the information we take in by/from our environment is colored by experience.”

I wrote a status last week that read:

Only 2% of individuals that leave their hometown (the nest), leave with complete (or of 90%) authenticity. Therefore when I say, you are your environment, I mean that by whatever you’ve experienced in your environment (place of birth, where you were raised, got your degree, live) you’ve attached a feeling or sense of attachment to it. Again, the way you approach and do things is colored by your environment and the emotional response that you’ve attached to it from what you’ve experienced.Β

Love, pain, happiness, sorrow etc., is indebted to those experiences via your environment. From those experiences we build a model of our world, telling ourselves a story of what it is and what it is not.

This is why there are different perspectives in the upper, middle, and lower class families/individuals. It is also why there is a different perspective in the north versus the south about love, potential, happiness, relationships, marriage etc. Other than those 2%, you’re upbringing has a-lot more to do with how you feel and your decision making, way more than you think. Make an intentful effort to leave what was in the past. Some people are still dancing in yesterday’s happiness/sorrow, missing today’s glory. Use your mind as a creative thinking equipment. Reconstruct your mind. Many people believe that their thinking is genuinely themselves, but its their parents, friends, colleagues, co-workers, where they grew up, the school they went to, the person their dating etc. Take a risk and go, speak to, or find whatever is nudging at your heart, because the only thing we really know for sure is what we feel.

Enlarge that 2%. “Authentic power is building something you cannot lose and its something that no one can take from you.”-Gary Zukav

The cage is your environment. This explains how and why people value the things they do and don’t do. Ambition, courtship, marriage, finances, sex, self-worth, materialization, education…and the list goes on. After all, only 2% of the birds born into a cage when released, will leave with the realization that they’ve always had wings.Β

Passing judgement on anyone’s life is not at your discretion. Many people have and make decisions they don’t understand themselves, in result of an upbringing that they had no control over. However, until one decides to face and move pass what was in the past, in the cage shall the bird remain.#IKnowWhyTheCageBirdSings
