What you put on your social site(s) MATTER!

People make the assumption that just because you do not jump up and down, yell and scream, and plaster your page about issues personally related to you, that you don’t care about the current issues in this country or elsewhere. Whether global or domestic, if you didn’t post it, you don’t care. No. Been there, done that.

In this day and age, and in the rise and reign of social media, I guess that’s fair, but let me explain.

What I know now, and what I have learned, is that when you’re posting and sharing your opinion on every issue there is out there, you’re adopting the energy those issues carry. Issues that are NOT positive and translate a LOW vibrational frequency. Yes, bad things happen in the world, but I’m not going to give my attention to it.

It’s why I’ve chosen to stay away from the news and television altogether. It’s why I’ve chosen to listen to certain types of music. It’s why I stay away from certain types of people – physically or virtually. Nothing personal. But, I understand how life and what becomes of it, is a result of what you feed it. Focus on.

I’ve made a conscious decision to choose positivity, imagination, creativity, and truth. The perfect plane of the ying and yang. As we all know, the truth can be harsh at times.

Where’s the lesson in all of this?

The lesson is to pay attention to the things you engage. Everything you entertain, influences you (see the previous blog post). If your goal and mission in life is not to become an activist/politician, then let the experts handle it. Solely voice your opinion when necessary. Show your support, but again, let the experts handle it. Just remember, you would never run into a burning building before a trained and professional firefighter. Stay in your lane.

If you want a happy life, choose to focus on happy things. Recognize that there’s negativity out there, just don’t focus or dwell on it. Therefore, I’m not saying ignore it altogether, but what I am saying is, CHOOSE to see the positive in all things, and all people. Keyword, CHOOSE.

Be of good cheer, be of good courage, and never hope unless you absolutely have to. Hoping is for those that are inclined to beg, and by the terms of your birthright, you don’t have too.

  1. Great advice. I don’t watch the news either…only to check the weather and the hubs watches the sports update. I see a lot of stuff on social media and like you I don’t pay attention to it. It’s bad enough when I see videos of dogs being rescued it depresses me so much….I don’t need to read about other sad stories. I’d be sobbing all day.
