Oprah’s week-long series, “Believe” that has not yet aired, inspired me to write this blog post. I’m watching her, “Where Are They Now” show featuring the most spiritually impactful stories.
I couldn’t help but think about the billions of people living on the planet, and then about the small group of the people who actually live and are motivated to push and inspire others to do more. Find purpose…
Why those few?
I think those few people were struck with tragedy, at one point or another, which in turn sparked meaning and purpose. Some are ruined by it – simply by not being able to handle the rush of raw realism. But all in all, when faced with tragedy or destruction, one that’s overcome, something happens. As many people call it, it’s like an awakening.
I had a few moments like that of my own. Yes, momentsssss! lol Those experiences transformed me into an individual who aims to discover, ask questions, and seek understanding. I’m extremely blunt and expressive when it comes onto why I don’t do things or why I won’t spend my time around certain people, among many other things. However, I also make it a huge point to explain what I love and why I am the way I am – without compromise.
What do I believe?
I believe I’m here to revolutionize how we connect with each other and life. To learn our desires and to burn to ashes for our chosen purpose. To everyday lay everything on the line for that burning passion that nothing else can or will fulfill. I believe in “self”. I believe it is the Source to all things. The discovery. Getting to know the individual. I believe as we better understand ourselves – the good, the bad, and the ugly – we can better understand each other. We are the source of love, religion, life and death etc. An it is us who keeps the circulation of all those things in motion.
At 26 there’s so much I look forward to personally. But there’s nothing more that I want than to inject, for the rest of my life, what I feel when I’m in a space of inspiration. One where one recognizes their true essence. It’s all I want to be surrounded by. The things that should not happened, but did. The people who should not be here, but are. Simply the things and people who defy the rules of life and existence. It’s what brings a smile to my face and pumps my heart like a 5-year-old child on Christmas morning. I just want life to move me in a way that brings me to tears.
What you believe is what you feel you need to do while you’re here. Often times tragedies that occur in our world gives the illusion that it’ll soon come to an end. But we’re mistaken. We’re only a lightning flash in the universe. The world has been around for years and it will be after you and I.
I encourage you to search for that thing, or multiple things, that will inspire you and plant a mustard seed of purpose in your life. An once you’ve grabbed a hold of it, allow yourself to be reduced by it and then share that gift with others.
