Here’s how you can instantly become a power player in your city or town.

I’ve been starving my young professional/business orientated audience for a little minute now. So, I’m here to redeem myself!

Everyone wants to be an Oprah. A person where you don’t have to mention their last name to know who they are. Yes, a Power Player!

I admit, I too want to be one of those individuals. People will say, “Oh, that’s Sarah Lee’s husband.” Not Mrs. so-so’s husband. Ha! Beyonce Knowles vs. Mrs. Carter. Shots out to all of the men married to powerful women! 😉

Okay, enough yapping. Here’s how you can instantly become a power play in your local city/town.

If you want to be successful in any area, people have to know who you are. Plain and simple. Determining on your location, you may have to sway a less desired route (in terms of what you’re interested in) to achieve a power player position.

For example, if you’re in Tallahassee, you better hop on the political train real quick. You’re in the hub of politics. The heartbeat.Whatever you’re doing, incorporate politics in it. You may not like it, but your hands are tied on this one.

Some may ask, “Well, what about opening a business?”

My Answer: Nope. That’s a no go. Very few out of a few survive. The city dies during the summer when the students are away. Plus, lets weigh in the factor that there’s a new club (renamed– meaning a company change) every other year. That’s a clear indication that you will not benefit going that route.

Pay attention to your surroundings. Pay attention to the people that are there, and especially the one’s who have been around for a while. You have your play book right in front of you.

BUT, there’s a twist.

If you’re already well-known in your city and you’re clearly in a record playing routine–meaning you’re attending the same events, with the same people, doing the same things, MOVE!

Tinie Tempah: Adam Lawrence; Reggie Yates: Phill Taylor

You’re a little too comfortable and more than likely you’re the reference to the younger professionals of what not to be. The overly ambitious that want to go to the top, that is. Those professionals. So, you might want to make a run for it. Get out now!

You have goals and then you have visions. Your goals should lead up to your over all vision.

Every move on the chess board counts. Line them up in the proper order to reach your desired destination. Just don’t get S T U C K aka comfortable. #Checkmate

Game over.
